( There's Just An Empty Space )
Today was my second day at the Microsoft Vista Developer's meets. The shipping date for Beta 2 is on the 30th of June so we are pushing code like its drugs over here. We got re-grouped and re-cubed, and my group was meeting at the Global Knowledge center on Computerstraße 10 (Computer Street, 10th District). I carpooled with Anthony, my intern supervisor (read: I made him pick me up in the morning). The whole campus was called the "High Tech Campus" and admittedly, I was thrilled. My group proved to be very nice, we were all compatible. I was the only female, I thought it would be awkward but it wasn't. We programmed installation wizards in C++ (some of you might have seen the dllwiz.cpp code that I had posted to LJ in a moment of frustration after not finding my memory stick. Today we looked at WinFX, UA, UC and WPF, as well as programming in XAML. I got given the option of either going in for my regular 9AM to 5PM shift tomorrow or doing a night shift - from 9PM to 1AM. If you want Vista screenshots, I'll be posting them tomorrow with a code summary of the work (under a cut, I know more than half of you wouldn't like it).
The last day of school sucked. My report was good, however, it could have been better (grades are on a scale of 1-7, 7 being the best, 1 the worst). I also got my very first 4 on a report. Fuck the February Exams, honestly.

I wish I could have stayed and gone to Rita's party, in a way, I missed some things (and somebody said they missed me there, wow) and Esi is here and I won't be seeing Rita ever again. Instead I was in the humble village of Oeblarn located in Steiermark, vegetating away happily with Madeleine. We went to Hofer (the Austrian version of Costco, for my fellow Americans) and found Kill Bill volumes 1 and 2 for only €7.99 each! We both bought some and watched those at my house... followed by Garden State and Black Hawk Down. We also bought a lot of unneccessary bulk food. All we did was watch movies, read, sleep or eat. Overall, a nice weekend which ended somewhat abruptly yesterday and I got hurled back into the working world. I leave for Boston on the 30th.
